About Us

Mind, Body, & Soul (MBS) Asset Development Center is a non-profit corporation that was established in 2006 to serve vulnerable and under-resourced populations by providing mind, body, and soul - MiBoSo - wellness services. Our mission is to be a refuge for restoration, relaxation, and realization by engaging and educating the mind, building the body, and searching the soul. We envision empowering individuals, communities, and agencies to achieve mind, body, and soul wellness.

 

Our asset development services include:

  • Journey Coaching Sessions for personal and professional growth with mindfulness, restorative stretching, and meditation

  • Trauma exposure recovery responsive services

  • Service-learning with vulnerable populations (international populations include Haiti, El Salvador, Israel, and Rwanda) 

  • Formational Counseling, Pastoral Counseling, and Spiritual Direction

  • Professional development and continuing education workshops for those serving vulnerable populations

Troy

Woods

Troy Woods is an encourager and people developer and is the co-founder and Director of Mind, Body, and Soul Asset Development Center – a 501(C)3 non-profit agency that seeks to serve and empower under-resourced families through holistic wellness. Troy has committed over twenty years to the well-being of the under-represented and walked alongside them on their recovery journeys. He is a leadership coach and serves as a facilitator and consultant to health and human service agencies, faith-based agencies, community members, and educators who service under-resourced populations. He provides facilitation for Parents for Change, a parent education group; facilitates life skills workshops; and develops curriculum to increase the academic, social, and emotional assets of others. Troy obtained his Master’s Degree in Historical and Practical Theology from Ashland Theological Seminary with an emphasis in Pastoral Counseling. He is a certified Nonprofit Management and Leadership Professional.

Dr. Sherri

Harper Woods

Dr. Sherri Harper Woods is an encourager and equipper. She is co-founder of the non-profit, Mind, Body and Soul (MBS) Asset Development Center and is the Director and Formational Counselor of Raphe Care Services a branch of MBS. As an encourager, she serves as a licensed independent social work supervisor and formational counselor. As an equipper, she serves as Faculty of Youngstown State University Social Work Department. As a certified yoga teacher who integrates mindfulness, restorative movement, and meditation into the healing process through soul care, self-care, and spiritual direction coaching. She empowers individuals on their path toward hope, healing, and health. She obtained her Doctor of Ministry Degree in Formational Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary and her Master of Science in Social Administration degree from Case Western Reserve University.
